Advocates for Adoption offers many services to you during this difficult time. We provide legal counsel, medical care and as you may be unable to work, we can help you with your living expenses. We can also help you relocate. As every situation is unique, we assess your specific needs and requests to make an adoption plan for you in a confidential, dignified, and beneficial manner. |

3. Can I choose who I want to adopt my baby?
Yes, you can. When you start working with Advocates for Adoption we always ask what type of family you want to adopt your baby. We then present you with a prospective adoptive family who matches your criteria. If you do not want to choose the adoptive family or would prefer a closed adoption (no details shared), AFA can choose a family for you. |

4. I want to make sure good people adopt my baby. How can you guarantee this?
All of our prospective adoptive families have been studied in depth in terms of their backgrounds, strength of marriage, ability to provide loving and responsible parenting as well as their general character. They are screened medically and through background checks are cleared of any child abuse or criminal behavior. Our director goes to everyone's home and goes back three times after they come home with the baby. Usually the family would be happy to send letters and pictures after placement. In addition, the adoptive parents you choose would usually be happy to develop a relationship with you prior to your delivery, through speaking on the telephone and through visits to you. Finally, at Advocates for Adoption we pride ourselves on being small, and we always have close, personal relationships with our adoptive families (and our birthparents!). We would never approve an adoptive family who did not meet our criteria. |

5. My child is already born. Can you help me?
We can help you find a good home for your child no matter his or her age. If you call us from a hospital (if you are in labor or have just given birth) we can have an approved adoptive family ready in a matter of hours. We can also help find your infant or toddler a good home. |
