About Us:

  Advocates for Adoption, Inc. was founded in 1996 by Dr. Judith S. Lee.  Dr. Lee has over 39 years of experience as a social worker and has had a private psychotherapy practice since 1970.

  Advocates for Adoption was founded on the belief that adoption can and should be a readily available and easily understood option for both birth parents and prospective adoptive parents.

  We combine the best features of Agency adoption with those of private adoption.  We are committed to providing sophisticated clinical evaluations, counseling and education for parents and adopted children (following the traditional agency model), while also making it possible for birth parent and adoptive parents to work together during the pregnancy (as is common in private adoptions).

  We pride ourselves on creating personalized adoption plans that meet the wishes and hopes of both our birth parents and our adoptive families.  The adoption plans can be completely open, semi-open, semi-closed, or completely closed, depending what you, the birth parent, or you, the adoptive parent, prefer Advocates for Adoption provides a full range of pre- and post-adoption services.  Our philosophy is simple - to work closely with birth parents and adoptive parents through every step of the adoption process, with compassion, honesty, and the highest professional ethics.
